RELAPSE PREVENTION

How many times have you tried to stop using drugs and alcohol on you're own and failed? How often have you attempted to stop using where you currently live and it just seems like a battle since your partner or family members and friends all use or simply do not understand addiction? How many programs have attended for a few weeks or a month and then returned home and relapsed within a short period of time? If this is ringing a bell with you then we can help! We pride ourselves on our relapse prevention program.

Stepping Ahead offers women a built in mechanism for establishing new friends and a healthy support system with other women in recovery. It aids in helping you avoid the obstacles that sometimes get in the way of your recovery. For example, isolating because you really do not know anyone or you are shy, embarrassed or nervous about attending meetings alone.

At Stepping Ahead you have the ability to attend meetings daily in our van with other women who are trying to put their lives back in order and remain drug and alcohol free just like you!

Everyone is friendly and because you have a common bond it just makes the initial adjustment to your new way of life that much easier. Many of us lack the social skills and the perseverance to attend meetings and make new friends especially if we are having a bad day. We tend to just stay at home and isolate and then drink or take drugs.

There is no secret! The key to long-term sobriety is building a support system for yourself and that is just much easier to do at Stepping Ahead. You live in recovery daily and attend meetings and share problems and obstacles with other women in recovery, our staff, and your sponsor that you choose once you arrive here and attend some meetings. You begin to develop some enduring qualities as you work the 12-step program that will carry you through your new life such as honestly, willingness, faith, love, and hope.

Let's get real, these things do not happen overnight or in a few short weeks but by doing the next right thing today and then adding time to the equation there is hope for you to become a whole person capable of living out your dreams whatever they may be!

Also at Stepping Ahead you receive weekly independent group therapy that deals with early recovery issues and personal problems you may be having. Your peers are there with you and are able to understand you and what you are going through that much better and can be more supportive of you during the week.

Our staff is available 24 hours and is also in recovery and understands what it is like in the early going. Time, structure and a supportive atmosphere is what is always there for you at Stepping Ahead and during this process you gradually begin to assume responsibility for yourself and establish new friendships and get emotionally, spiritually and physically healthy. We also have referral links to any additional services you may require such as medical, individual therapy and more!
